Samoens has a good choice bars and restaurants that compliment the lifestyle. There are 20 local restaurants that offer everything from the best of the local French Savoyard cuisine and wines, rustic pizzas, raclettes , tartiflettes and steaks, to easy food for those who have really worked up an appetite after a day of activities.

Our personal favourite place to dine is Le Bois De Lune.
We fell upon this place on our very first night at Samoens and we have been in love ever since. The combination of the reception from the hosts Fred and Aurel, the attention to detail from the chef, and the contemporary but warm feel of the restaurant made it a really pleasurable experience each time. There is also a cocktail bar with an open log fire, for those who want to enjoy in an aperitif in atmospheric surroundings.

Atmosphere: Contemporary, lively, trendy. Has house DJs. Perfect for private parties/dining.
Dining/Drinking: Amazing menu created by contemporary chef. Great for after dinner drinks.
Price: Fair for a good night out with friends.

We also found that La Louisiane never fails to present a hearty delightful rustic, wood fired pizza and warmth, even when we turned up at silly hours of the evening.

Dining: Authentic, wholesome food. Good choice of pizzas.
Price: Good value for money.

Le Serac. In the heart of the village, this couple owned restaurant never appears to be short of diners. Advanced booking advised.
Atmosphere: Busy, lively, warm and friendly. Service with a smile!
Dining: Good choice on the menu, even for the vegetarians among us. Great crème brulee!
Price: Reasonable for a nice meal with friends and family.

Muscade et Basilic is nicely hidden in the characteristic little streets off the main square. It specialises in gourmet international nouvelle cuisine, and is perfect as a special treat.
Atmosphere: Romantic and charming setting.
Dining: Excellent quality food, nicely presented. Extensive wine cellar.
Price: A little on the steep side, but worth it for the food and atmosphere.

To complete our crazy days with a little more craziness, we are always guaranteed a warm welcome and good times at Covey’s Irish Bar. A well deserved drink (or two) served by our hosts Shane, John and Paul; it’s like being at home with your friends.

Drinking: Not a dry mouth in the house! Great choice of beers, shots, cocktails and soft.
Price: Great value for money. No pretentious price tags in sight.
